Rewley House, built in 1873 is part of Oxford University’s department for continuing education.
In 2015 Elite were asked to carry out the design and turn-key refurbishment of their kitchen areas, their dining room and their communal lounge.
The dining and common areas were completely stripped back and fully redesigned to allow for a stylish and comfortable interior.
Brand new quality Karndean flooring was laid by Elite in both areas with part of the original parquet floor being restored and refreshed. The inspiring textile Swedish Bolon flooring was designed into the bar area to create a real wow factor.
Walls were plastered and redecorated, and again, the original brick wall in the dining room was refreshed and enhanced with some stunning to lighting effects. Feature artwork from local artists was chosen to bring colour and a
talking point to the areas and was joined by some wonderful photos of people and places connected to the college’s history. Exquisite curtains and bespoke designer screens completed the contemporary and classy look.
Bespoke bookshelves, tea points and a smashing new bar were all built by Elite in the Lowestoft factory, utilising Altro Chameleon and Corian materials, and fitted on site, alongside a beautiful reclaimed 1840’s Parisian Fire Place. And if that wasn’t cool enough, a brand-new wood burner stove was installed utilising the original chimney network.
