Café Bateel is an exciting new concept in casual dining based in Dubai UAE, combining Mediterranean cuisine and a rich tradition of Arabian hospitality, resulting a tempting selection of delicious, wholesome food and beverages served in a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

The first Café Bateel opened in 2007 in the UAE. Since then, it has expanded into other countries and can be found in the most prestigious locations.

In the late autumn of 2021, Elite Foodservice Design were approached by Bateel International, to put together a design proposal to carryout the design and specification of their new flagship restaurant.

We set about adapting the initial architectural building plans and developed the back of house kitchen areas. With the kitchen being a long, slim area, we created a series of prep and cooking bays, supported by a long preparation support line. At one end was a large bakery/desserts section with Bateel being famed around the globe for their exceptional gourmet sweets.

MKN cooking equipment was selected by the chef, due to its durable build-quality, reliability, and a stylish looking finish. This would be supported by bespoke fabrication base stands which would allow for the unique Adande refrigerated multi-temp drawers to be slotted in.

Market-leading Rational combination ovens were also selected to provide the kitchen with total variety and versatility and really help with the re-gen element of the kitchen.

The restaurant seating is based above the kitchen, so we incorporated three separate food lifts and created a handling and finishing room to receive the dishes, based behind a restaurant bar.

Battle Ewan Dubai Plans

A heavy-duty wash up area was also positioned to one side of the service lifts to ensure an efficient and quick wash section, without crossing with out-going food.

We created a series of visuals and animations which were presented via weekly on-line Teams meetings in order to create the perfect environment for the Culinary Director, Nicholas Cuadrado and his team. We also used in-house virtual reality systems to ensure the practical working of the kitchen area – experiencing the area live and at full scale.

Alongside the development of the kitchen design, we worked closely with the M&E teams in order to progress the build and prepare the area for installation.
