Elite Foodservice Design recently completed the design and installation of two M-iQ B-M54V8P6 Meiko Flight machines at James Paget Hospital, enhancing the hospital's commercial kitchen during an extensive refurbishment project. This installation is part of a larger, ongoing project, with the main kitchen area expected to be completed by early 2025.

The newly installed M-iQ machines bring many advantages to the hospital’s kitchen, providing a highly efficient and reliable solution for their warewashing needs. The M-iQ flight machines are known for their exceptional cleaning performance, and this latest generation takes the technology even further compared to the previous B-Tronic range. One of the standout features is the self-emptying stainless steel wash pump, which contributes to outstanding wash results and enhanced operational efficiency. After a full day's use, the M-iQ machines automatically clean themselves using the water already in the system. The machine flushes dirt through its advanced filter system with a single fill of the pump’s final rinse, continuing this process at regular intervals until the machine is empty.

The M-iQ filter system is a key highlight of these machines, performing a vital role in maintaining top hygiene standards. It actively removes food waste from the warewashing process by collecting and periodically flushing food residue out of the tank—without using any additional water. This innovative feature significantly reduces water and detergent consumption, making the M-iQ one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly solutions on the market.

In addition to its cleaning capabilities, the M-iQ offers user-friendly operation with an intuitive glass CC-Touch display that simplifies machine control and monitoring. The system continuously checks all its functions, keeping users informed with a dynamic progress bar and status indicators that show when the machine is ready for action. The built-in diagnostics system also provides real-time updates, ensuring any deviations or discrepancies are flagged immediately for attention. This makes the M-iQ flight machines not only efficient but also reliable and easy to maintain.

During the project, Elite Foodservice Design supported the client with 3D visualizations and comprehensive design plans, ensuring the new machines would meet their specific needs. A visit to an existing Meiko flight machine setup in the UK allowed the client to see the technology in action, reassuring them of the system's capabilities. Furthermore, Meiko's installation team was exceptional, demonstrating professionalism and expertise throughout the installation process, ensuring a smooth integration.

This project at James Paget Hospital showcases Elite Foodservice Design's commitment to providing innovative, efficient, and user-friendly solutions, tailored to meet the needs of each client. With the installation of these advanced Meiko M-iQ flight machines, the hospital’s kitchen is set to enjoy superior cleaning performance, increased efficiency, and cost savings for years to come.
