Throwback to one of our most intense (and most satisfying) projects: Benedicts restaurant commercial kitchen refurbishment in Norwich, delivered alongside award-winning chef-owner Richard Bainbridge.
This wasn’t a quick tidy-up. Instead, it was a full commercial kitchen refurbishment and redesign with a hard deadline. Because the kitchen had to run smoothly from day one, the layout needed to be practical, hygienic and fast.
Benedicts is based on St Benedicts Street in Norwich, so the kitchen also had to support high-pressure service without bottlenecks. With only a three-week shutdown window, we planned every stage carefully. As a result, the team could reopen with a kitchen that worked immediately.
Most importantly, this commercial kitchen refurbishment in Norwich focused on workflow. For example, we created clearer routes from prep to pass and improved storage without cluttering worktops. In addition, we built dedicated zones so tasks could happen in parallel during busy service.
In just 3 weeks, we delivered:
- A bigger, more open back-of-house built for real service
- Dedicated prep zones (including bakery + butchery space)
- New stainless steel and extraction
- A kitchen layout designed around workflow, hygiene and speed
